Harvard School of Excellence provides a quality instructional program equipped to meet standards and goals established by the federal, state, and local government. We believe that all children will make adequate progress when placed in a well-nurtured learning environment and taught by competent, dedicated, and caring teachers.

Harvard School, located on the southwest side of Chicago, is a two-structured building - one built around the early 1900s and the second in the 1960s. The school's enrollment is approximately 430 students. The population is nearly 100% African-American.
Harvard's staff consists of 2 administrators, 1 counselor, 3 resource teachers, 19 classroom teachers grades PreK-8, 1 full-time physical education teacher, 1 full-time music teacher, 1 full-time art teacher, 2 instructional teacher assistants, 2 security officers, and 1 school secretary.
Harvard offers a wide range of extracurricular activities such as football, choir, cheerleading, volleyball, conservation club, art club, pom-pom, and basketball.
Increased student attendance by 1% from 2013 to 2014.
Increased the percent of students at or above grade level in reading by 3% from 2013 to 2014.
