The Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) is pleased to announce the addition of Arnie Rivera and Drew Beres to our Board of Directors. As dedicated leaders with extensive experience in education and community development, Arnie and Drew bring valuable perspectives to AUSL’s mission to improve educational outcomes for students and empower teachers and leaders in schools in Chicago and across the country.
Arnie Rivera has a strong background in public service and education policy. His work in various leadership roles with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and in the Chicago community at large has demonstrated his commitment to impactful education. As a member of AUSL’s Board, Arnie will provide critical insights and guidance to support our initiatives in developing innovative strategies for school improvement. He is currently the Chief Administrative and Equity Officer at Navy Pier. He started his education career as a CPS teacher, and has since served in leadership roles across Chicago, including at the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), After School Matters, and the Chicago Public Education Fund.
Drew Beres brings a wealth of experience in community development, philanthropy, and government relations. His work with civic organizations has consistently focused on building strong, vibrant communities through strategic partnerships. Drew’s expertise will be instrumental as AUSL continues to expand its outreach and strengthen partnerships within the education sector. He currently serves as the Managing Partner and Co-Founder at Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres. From his various leadership roles in Chicago’s city government to his current role, Drew’s work with civic organizations has consistently focused on building strong, vibrant communities through strategic partnerships.
